1. Information We Collect

When you create an account on Mapji, we collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, and profile information from your authentication provider (e.g., GitHub). When you create maps, we store the map data, configuration, and any uploaded files you provide.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services
  • Create and manage your account
  • Host and serve your published maps
  • Send service-related communications
  • Monitor and analyze usage trends

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with third-party service providers who assist in operating our platform (e.g., hosting, analytics such as Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics, and authentication). Maps you publish are publicly accessible at its mapji.com/map address, subdomain or custom domain.

When a visitor to a store locator searches for a town or postcode, the text they type is sent to our geocoding provider, Geoapify, to find that place. We don't store the search, and we don't send their IP address with it.

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by our infrastructure partners. Map data and uploaded files are stored using industry-standard encryption and access controls. We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

5. Cookies and Analytics

Some cookies are necessary for Mapji to work and are always set:

  • your sign-in session for the dashboard;
  • access to a password-protected map you have unlocked;
  • your cookie choice, and which cookie rule applies in your country (we store only the rule, not your location).

Optional analytics cookies help us understand how people use this website and the dashboard. They are never used on published maps or embeds.

  • Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used (clicks, scrolling and page changes) as session recordings and heatmaps, on this website and in the dashboard. Text typed into fields is hidden. When you are signed in, Clarity receives an internal account ID, which it hashes in your browser; it never receives your name or email address.
  • Google Analytics measures visits to this website and the dashboard, and steps such as creating a map, so we can see which sources bring people who use Mapji. It does not receive your account ID, name or email address.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, these load only after you choose Accept. Elsewhere they are on by default and you can turn them off at any time; if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as turning them off.

We also use Vercel Analytics, which counts page views without cookies.

6. Your Rights

You may access, update, or delete your account information at any time through the dashboard. If you wish to delete your account entirely, please contact us and we will remove your data within 30 days.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated revision date.
